Newsletters are Good for Your Business

Do you send a regular newsletter to your customers?

More and more small businesses are successfully using newsletters as a business development tool.

Newsletters:

Bring in extra business - your name is always in front of your customers
Ensure your customers are up to date with what you can offer them
Are welcomed by customers, particularly if they contain useful information

Newsletters will also support all your other sales and marketing activities.

So a regular newsletter is well worth the effort to write and send.

And an e-mail newsletter, rather than the traditional printed version, is now very well received as a quick and efficient form of business communication.

e-mail newsletters are also very low cost to produce and distribute.

e-mail newsletters are of four main types:

  1. Sales: new product, offers, specials.
  2. Corporate: company promotion
  3. Information: Information, tips etc.
  4. Product: specific or technical product information and updates

What would be best for you?

Some Pointers

What newsletters do you receive now? What are the features you like / don’t like?
How many customers will be on your newsletter mailing list? This will determine the choice of list maintenance and delivery method, and the software you will use.
Don’t send your newsletter ‘unsolicited’ - you risk being accused of spamming. Develop techniques for inviting customers to subscribe to your newsletter.
